  WHAT IS NONVIOLENT COMMUNICATION?

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a process developed by Marshall Rosenberg, Ph.D., more than 40 years ago, that helps connect us with what is most alive in us and in others in the present moment. Using NVC, we become more aware of what limits our ability to give and receive and we learn to reframe how we express ourselves and how we hear others so that all of us are more likely to get our needs met.

In this workshop, we’ll explore the basic tools of this transformational process of compassionate communication and will practice applying so we can use this to in our own lives. You can learn more about this powerful  practice at the website: www.cnvc.org

*ABOUT JASON:

Jason Kelley’s search for the meaning of life and an understanding of the suffering he saw in the world, led him to begin to study  philosophy and religion.  He became interested in Zen Buddhism and practicing meditation.  It was at the Vermont Zen Center that he met a friend who introduced him to Nonviolent Communication. NVC provided answers he was seeking and a level of intimacy that he was seduced by. He says, “The healing and changes I have experienced through this practice, have been powerful and profound.”

That was eight years ago. Since that time, he has studied and grown his skill in facilitating and practicing NVC (nonviolent communication) to the point of being Certified by the International Organization, led by NVC creator, Marshall Rosenberg.

Jason holds a degree in Education, and has a strong interest in schools and alternative forms of education.  He has worked in education, health care and social services. He loves working with people.

Jason has partnered with several other facilitators in the Philadelphia area to form Philly NVC. Together and individually, they offer all types of workshops, retreats, classes, mediation, and coaching work.

It is with great joy and enthusiasm that he offers his skill and experience in NVC to the larger community as he knows it is a catalyst for great growth, collaboration and peace.
